Data protection notice on the processing of your personal information

The personal information you provide is stored and processed by the University of Cologne. The purpose of this is solely to allow the team of the Suggestions and Complaints Office to help you resolve your concern. We do not pass on any personal information to third parties unless you have given us your written consent.

The personal information provided for the purpose of resolving the issue you turned to us with will be deleted afterwards – at the latest after two years after your initial inquiry. An exception can be made if the processing of your inquiry/request takes longer than two years. Data pertaining to individual cases (method of establishing contact, reply category, reason for contacting us, processing timeline, agreements and final report) are stored in an anonymous form for up to five years, and then deleted.

Processed inquiries/requests are analysed by the University of Cologne in an anonymous form, internally published and permanently stored for the purpose of long-term comparisons in the framework of quality management.

You have the right to revoke your consent to the storage and processing of your personal information anytime. To do so, please contact Helene Hucho at the Suggestions and Complaints Office (helene.hucho(at)uni-koeln.de). Apart from that, all the rights guaranteed in section 5 of the data protection law of North Rhine-Westphalia (§5 Datenschutzgesetz NRW) apply.
